Description
It is a surveillance device to monitor the sleep of our baby, which includes a sensor system to monitor the baby’s breathing at all times. This model has the following features:
- Color LCD display: shows the room temperature, the sound volume of the baby’s room and the various active alarms.
- Breathing control: includes a sensor to monitor baby’s breathing. We can adjust the sensitivity of this sensor.
- VOX mode: the screen will turn on when it detects a noise in our baby’s room.
- Battery alarm: a whistle will alert you if the battery is running low.
- 8 transmission channels: to avoid any kind of interference.

This device has a small LCD screen where we can see all the options we have active, such as the temperature and the degree of noise existing in our baby’s room. The sound is loud and clear, it also has 8 channels to avoid interference with other electronic devices in the home.
It also has VOX, so the device will only turn on when it detects that our child is starting to cry. This option is very useful for helping parents relax.
One of the weaknesses of this device is that it does not include two-way communication, so you can only listen to your little one but you CANNOT talk to him. In our opinion, a baby monitor that only transmits audio at this price should include such a fundamental feature.
Battery: 6.5 out of 10
Both the child’s unit and the parents’ unit can work connected to electricity or have 4 rechargeable batteries, so that you can use them without being dependent on the power outlet.
The battery life is approximately 3-4 hours, values very scarce being only an intercom with which we can only listen to our son.
Range: 9 out of 10
The transmission distance between the parents’ unit and the child’s unit is approximately 200 meters. This value, however, refers to open spaces, within our homes it is usually reduced enough. It also has a signal loss alarm for the peace of mind of parents.

Without a doubt the strong point of this device is the insertion of the sensor to control the baby’s movement. Almost no other intercom for children includes this extra function and gives greater peace of mind to all those responsible for keeping the child safe. It is also true that the motion sensor does not work on all cradles (they must have a rigid base) and mattresses (for example those that are “Memory foam”). The installation can also become complicated and the room becomes filled with cables, which some parents will not like.
It also includes a temperature sensor to let you know at all times the status of the room where our son sleeps.
Lacks of features, such as the reproduction of lullabies at a distance or the possibility of connecting other devices to use it with more children.

We consider this model an innovative product in the world of monitoring for the little ones. The sound quality is quite good and there is no interference. We believe, however, that even if the function for breathing control can be useful, it is not essential. Also the fact of not working on all mattresses and cradles is a factor to be taken into consideration by customers before making the purchase.
The price to buy the Angelcare AC401 baby monitor is quite excessive, since it is a device that only transmits audio and does not have two-way communication. At this price we can find models that also include the video to see our baby

In the end we returned the product, we could not activate it. Too complex.
I had to change it with another model because it was not compatible with my crib. I advise you to check this before buying.
Practical and easy to handle, you can always carry it with you, thanks to its size it fits in a pocket, I’m happy with the purchase.
The product is reliable and feels very good, it does not have the video however I am serene thanks to the motion sensors.
