This device does not have a display, but a simple parent unit with a circular design: there are the on / off buttons and the buttons to adjust the volume – there are also 3 small lights on the top that turn on in case of noise detection in the baby’s room.
The parent unit should be placed close to have a clear and audible sound quality. It also has VOX, so the device will only turn on when it detects that our child is starting to cry. This option is very useful to solve the problem of little autonomy.
One of the weaknesses of this device is that it does not include two-way communication, so it will only be possible to listen to the little one WITHOUT being able to talk to him..
Battery: 5 out of 10
Both the child’s unit and the parents’ unit can work connected to electricity or have rechargeable batteries, so that it will be possible to have the device free of wires and power cables. Battery life is estimated at around 3-4 hours of complete autonomy.
If we keep in mind that we are talking about a simple intercom with unidirectional communication and warning lights, the battery life is really very low, especially when compared to extremely more advanced models: with video image, two-way communication and other options that guarantee durations ranging from 6-8 hours.

The transmission distance between the parents’ unit and the child’s unit is approximately 150 meters. This distance, however, refers to open spaces, with no barriers and obstacles, which means that the performance within our homes is reduced enough.

The simplicity of the product and the compromise between quality and price do not include the presence of extras on this model. It lacks functions such as the reproduction of lullabies, the possibility of connecting other devices and many other functions.

Keep in mind that this model has no pretense of being a latest-generation baby monitor, but rather responds to the sound transmission needs of a classic intercom. The sound quality is discreet if there are no barriers and obstacles and you have the foresight to always have the devices close (both the parent unit and the baby unit) – if you have these precautions the sound is fairly clear and free from interference.
The price of the Always with you Chicco baby monitor is really very very competitive and could not be otherwise for a device that only transmits sound and does not even have two-way communication. At the same price it is possible to find similar models also of the same brand with better sound and transmission stability.
Good product but often the sound is not good and the battery of the parent unit lasts very little. I have a baby one month old and I can’t charge the unit every hour and a half …
